Peace of Mind Vehicle Inspection
The DEKRA Expert peace of mind vehicle inspection is designed for people who are thinking of buying or have recently purchased a second hand vehicle and are happy with the cosmetics of the vehicle such as the interior and paintwork, but need assurance that the mechanics of the vehicle are in good order.
This vehicle inspection provides peace of mind on mechanical, vehicle operations and previous accident damage checks. The vehicle inspection engineer provides both a verbal and multi-page written report.

A road test of up to five miles is undertaken by the engineer performing the peace of mind vehicle inspection. This test is carried out to confirm that all of the electrical instruments are functioning (if applicable), and that the vehicle operates appropriately both during and after the road test.
Car Data Check
Using data collected from the DVLA, Insurance companies, Finance companies and the Police, the vehicle inspection engineer compares the officially recorded information from a car data check with that of the vehicle during the peace of mind inspection.
The car data check provides the DEKRA Expert inspection engineer with the following vehicle details:
- date of first registration in the UK
- year of manufacture
- transmission type
- engine number
- fuel type
- engine capacity
- registration number
- make & model
- door plan
Please Note: The Car Data Check is carried out free of charge and therefore the information is for DEKRA Expert inspection engineer use only. However, you will be advised verbally if the check is clear, or of any adverse information.
