DEKRA - official DTM partner

  • DEKRA logo on the start numbers of DTM racing cars
  • DEKRA technical inspectors guarantee vehicle safety

DEKRA is a long-standing partner of the German Touring Car Masters (DTM). Europe's largest expert organisation has been a partner of the popular racing series since 1989. As both a series sponsor and official technical partner, DEKRA gets the international leading touring car series safely on the road.

Clemens Klinke, Member of the Executive Board at DEKRA SE and Chair of the Management Board at DEKRA Automobil GmbH, says about the partnership: "We are proud to be an official partner of DTM again in 2012 and to take over the entire technical approval of vehicles for the first time with an even bigger team. Europe's leading expert organisation, DEKRA and the DTM international leading touring car series are and remain an unbeatable team.

DEKRA guarantees vehicle safety at racing weekends, under the direction of the Head of the Automobile Test Center Volker Noeske and the DEKRA motorsports coordinator Wolfgang Dammert. In 2012, DEKRA is taking over the entire operative implementation of the technical approval. Five technicians instead of three are on site this year in order to live up to this responsibility. The team is being complemented by a motorsports specialist for the sealing and follow-up checks of all DTM engines. DEKRA technical inspectors have been relying on a Romer 3D precision measuring arm for their work since 2010. This simplifies and optimises measuring processes. As an official technical partner of DTM, DEKRA is also involved in the development of technical safety regulations.
